November Esbat Correspondences
Dia daoibh! (Hello in Gaeilge, or Irish). Welcome to November 2020’s Esbat teaching! This month we celebrate the Snow Moon. Some of the other names for November’s full moon include: Beaver Moon, Mourning Moon, Tree Moon, Fog Moon, Freezing River Moon and Frosty Moon.
This full moon’s correspondences look like this:
Beings/spirits/entities: Dark Goddesses and Gods, beings who rule over the darkness as November is the start of the dark half of the year. Also, subterranean Fae.
Gemstones sacred to this full moon include: Lapis lazuli, turquoise, citrine and topaz.
Trees: Hazel, Alder and Cypress. In the Celtic Tree Calendar November’s trees are Reed (November 1st-24th) and Elder (November 25th-30th).
If you’d like to incorporate the use of scents in your spiritual or magickal practice, or even in your self care, great choices that align with the monthly power flow are: Patchouli, cedar, chrysanthemum, hyacinth, narcissus, pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, peppermint and lemon.
Colors of the Snow Moon: Grays, blues, indigo, shades of dark purple, dark blue-purple.
Herbs and flowers representative of this esbat are: Patchouli, mugwort, chrysanthemum, blooming cacti, cinnamon, clove, betony, borage, cinquefoil, fennel, thistle and verbena.

The Snow Moon’s power flow is: Take root, prepare, rest and heal, transform and transcend. Strengthening communication with the dead, the Gods and the multiversal energy web.
The primary elemental correspondence is: Water.
Magickal correspondences: Prosperity, abundance, success, communication with the dead, communication and travel between worlds, enhancing connection and communication with the Divine, internal work (such as introspection, shadow work, self love, self healing, etc), strengthening and honoring bonds we have with family and friends, discovering and admitting to what we need to let go of and then taking steps to rid ourselves and our lives of these unhealthy, unhelpful and even toxic relationships, attitudes, beliefs, cognitive patterns, jobs, etc. New beginnings, self care, self discovery, transformation, resurrection, relaxation and self soothing, cleansing, tying up loose ends and thankfulness. Shamanic traveling and work.
I hope you enjoyed this month’s Esbat teaching on the Snow Moon.
